Out With the Old In With the New

May 5, 2010

I believe everyone has heard this phrase before. It is a phrase that applies more in the 21st century than at any other time in our history. Every where one looks there is a new phone, new car, new house, all we see is new new. Who can blame us, right? I mean everyone likes new things One of my favorite smells is the smell of a new car. It is just an exciting smell.

Why is it when it comes to our Christianity we don’t like the idea of new? The Apostle Paul tells us in 2nd Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come.” In Christ we have been given the gift of the new car smell for our lives. Sin no longer has the power to run and ruin our lives with the smell of disobedience. If you have not done so already, it is time to go out with old and in with new.
